Julius Marcellano Groeneveld

I was born in Amsterdam Old-West, The Netherlands in 1979 in a poor artistic household with a single Surinamese mom with three sons, of which i am the youngest. As a child our poverty forced us to be creative with cardboard, paper, markers, pencils and cans because our mom couldn't afford toys. My parents were devorced when i was 2 months old but i can say that my late Dutch father whom passed away last year, next to being a handy-man was an artist too with East-Indian Ink, pencil drawings, wood and forging stained glass. My mom used to be an erotic charcoal and pencil artist before she became very ill. One of my brothers drew comics and loved sculpting hip hop and horror figurines but decided to leave the artistic route in his teen years. My oldest brother was and still is very skilled in sculpting and modifying wood. In my first year of kindergarten the teacher called my mom into school to talk about my creative abilities, especially drawing and clay sculpting, in order to motivate her to pay attention to a possible future career in graphics.

As a teenager i have also been a grafitti street artist for about 2 years with a group of friends and my brother.

The name Greenfield comes from my Dutch last name Groeneveld, which is translated into english. Greenfield® GFX -  Graphics Design launched in 2022 started as ChooseDesigns Originals® in 2012. 8 years after going through Media College Amsterdam, formerly known as Graphic Lyceum Amsterdam, which unfortunately due to private matters i couldn't finish which in turn makes me a self-taught artist and designer, and having passion for drawing, music, entertainment, photography and design since childhood. During my childhood and as a young man i competed in several drawing contests, of which i had won a few and became second place in some and lost others. I also love music and play the accoustic and electric guitar, keyboard and i sing and rap. Being an artist is obviously in my vains. Having found some amazing clients through social media over the years of developing my graphic abilities, has been a drive to pursue freelancing as a career after obtaining some field experience. Since the BAYC hype i have been interested in the NFT (non-fungible token) market and community as a designer, which was advised by my son when i told him i was looking for additional income to sell graphics of my own without working in compliance for someone else and officially founded The Canary Islands BirdSquad™ NFT Collection on my birthday in 2023, after running a pilot on Twitter in 2022.

Before i started my business as Greenfield® GFX - Graphics Design, i obtained part-time employment directly through social media when starting promoting, gaining the experience and knowledge to understand the Media & Entertainment industry under the name of ChooseDesigns Originals® for 8 years collaborating with several music groups of the Underground Music Industry. While this was great i wanted to try more parts of the design field. Having a main job and a long career in logistics to sustain my household, lastly as a Logistics Safety Representative and Logistics Safety Trainer, ultimately i was able to include my graphic abilities in corporate dashboards, safety training material, company event flyers and posters and customer presentations of which the animated Safety Introduction Training and Covid-19 Safety Training received a wide applause and roll-out approval from global managers as well as the high table of the customer, who is in the top Fortune 500 for data and cloud computing.

I am always up for a challenge, by using a creative approach in various styles to create exactly what you vision. Having worked in the corporate world since 2001 i felt limited in the design process. So by becoming a part time and now full time freelance designer,  NFT Artist and community supporter this has allowed for endless opportunities to grow as a designer and as a person. I enjoy flashy, fancy, urban, sexy and sometimes rustic designs with a bit of flair and glamour and like to connect and build with other artists. I also love angels and birds in Art. But that's another story related to my mom and some events in my life, perhaps suitable for the CIBS™ NFT Collections' Whitepaper, which is currently under (re-) construction.

I am also a father of three kids, having a fourth underway and engaged. If i'm not designing, working on my NFTS, creating music, training, learning, working out or traveling, i'm constantly in contact with my loved ones.
